Traditional or Lockstitch Embroidery
Traditional or lockstitch embroidery is what everybody instantly recognises. Using rayon, polyester and metallic threads the design is only limited by one's imagination.
Applique
Applique is a technique of sewing down an area with a different type of fabric, thus giving the designer another tool to create different effects. It is also used where large areas would otherwise have to be stitched.
Metallic Threads
Fine gold, silver and now coloured metallic threads have largely replaced the traditional gold and silver bullion embroidery work our family introduced into New Zealand all those years ago. With the advent of modern technology these threads have added a new dimension to our traditional work.
